11th Women’s Summit



Some of Malaysia’s prominent women business leaders, government representatives, entrepreneurs joined with international speakers will address the future of the Malaysian woman “in the boardroom and in their ambitions” at The 11th Women’s Summit organized by The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development on 20th of August.

The 11th Women’s Summit will be held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre. The summit themed “Forging Your Own Path” addresses the core question: “how do we redevelop an environment that encourages women in the workforce to excel at their ambitions?”– This reflects how women are crucial contributors to the nation’s human resource capital and the roles they play as leaders and drivers in striving to achieve their own pathway to success. The summit provides a conducive platform and forum to educate, inspire and empower.

The Women’s Summit series is a dynamic and energised annual event where excellent women leaders from Corporate Malaysia share their experiences; voice their concerns regarding the workplace as well as put forward opinions on how their rights could be better enshrined in legislative, economic and cultural reform.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim, shares the aim of the one-day event is to bring together business women, future directors and entrepreneurs to look at other ways of perpetuating their dreams.

“This summit represents a vital opportunity for women in Malaysia to deliberate steps in administering policies and reforms; where women can be given better opportunities to ascend in the workplace achieving the countries vision”, says YB Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. “This will reinforce women’s leadership role laid out by the Economic Transformation Programme”,

Women make up approximately 57 percent of university enrolments, unfortunately it’s not reflected in senior management, according to Talent Corporation Malaysia.

The event will be officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin Bin Haji Mohd Yassin. The Summit will have speakers from executive, professional and governmental levels domestically and internationally.

Among the international speakers that will be featured is Sally Helgesen - an internationally acclaimed author, speaker, and consultant. Helgesen was ranked as the 15th world’s most influential leadership experts by Leadership Gurus survey and cited as one of the top 35 authorities in the field by Leadership Excellence magazine.


Invited industry panel of speakers include Airin Zainul (GM of ntv7 & 8TV), Adelaine Foo (CEO of The Otomotif College), May Yee (one of the Founder of The Last Polka Ice Cream), Isadora Chai (Restaurateur, Private Chef & Food Stylist) (Owner of Bistro a Table), Dato Ruby Khong (Liaison of Personal Affairs, Kechara Soup Kitchen & Kechara Paradise). The panel will be moderated by Johan Mahmood Merican (CEO, TalentCorp). Well known Malaysian personality Wan Zaleha Radzi will be present as the master of ceremonies.
