Prof Alan Harvey, Director of the Strathclyde Institute for Drug Research, University of Strathclyde, talks about how medical researchers are “Turning toxins into medicine”.

12 September
Dr David Gibson, Head of the Parasitic Worms division of the British Natural Museum and the world's foremost authority on the worms in fish guts, talks about the creepy crawlies in “Parasitic worms: foes or friends?”

18 September
Sir Ghillean Prance, former Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and now Scientific Director of the Eden Project, explains why mankind is at risk in his talk “Biology shows that climate change is real”.
